Rice Lake

Rice Lake home

Our first vacation home purchase is in Rice Lake, Wisconsin. Rice Lake is located approximately 2 hours straight east of Minneapolis, MN in Northwestern, Wisconsin. We like to call this unique and beautiful home, our Rice Lake Castle. This house boasts over 4,000 square feet on the main level with an equally finished lower level and sits on a 3-acre lot. We are only the second owners of this amazing home which was built in 1979. It’s located on a semi-private lake, called Lake Montanis and has nearly 350 feet of lake frontage. Lake Montanis is a 212-acre lake with a maximum depth of 14 feet.  Fish include Panfish, Largemouth Bass, Northern Pike, and Walleye.

The beauty begins when you pull in into the circle drive surrounded by trees on all sides and the lake on the other. It’s not uncommon for a whitetail deer to walk up into the front yard. The main level of the home contains 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a den with a bar and fireplace, a living room, kitchen with eat-in area, an indoor pool, a wet bar overlooking the pool, an indoor hot tub and indoor sauna. In the climate-controlled garage, you will find a laundry room.

You’ll enjoy sitting around the table in the kitchen, eating meals with your family and friends while looking out over the lake. Our kitchen contains your basic amenities (pots, pans, dishes) and also includes 2 crock pots, a Keurig, an Instant Pot, a waffle maker, muffin tins and more. We have cooking spray on hand, as well as salt and pepper and some basic spices. We also have a drawer that contains aluminum foil and Ziploc baggies.

Relax in our large living room and watch sports or movies on the 70” Roku TV. With our free Wifi, you can connect to your favorite app to watch the programming of your choice. Just off the living room is a closet full of games, puzzles, and a puzzle board. If the weather outside is less than desirable, there is plenty to do indoors! If you want a quieter space to read and kick back with a drink, head into our den. It has a beautiful gas fireplace and bar. It’s the perfect spot to cozy up with a good book or sit back and get some work done.

The lower level contains 3 bedrooms, each containing 2 bunk beds that have twin uppers and full lowers. There is also a bathroom located on the lower level. In the middle of the lower level is an incredibly cool retro game room. It’s the perfect spot for adults and kids alike to play and have fun!

When it comes to outdoor water activities, we can help you out! We have 2 kayaks with paddles available for use on the lake. Fishing poles are located in the garage as well as adult life jackets. Whether you want to fish from the dock, from a kayak, or rent our pontoon boat (for an additional daily fee), you’ll love the fun and relaxation Lake Montanis provides. Make sure to review the Wisconsin fishing requirements and license information prior to your stay!

The key feature that sets this home apart from so many others is our large, completely renovated indoor pool. No matter the weather outside, it’s always 70 degrees inside! While you’re enjoying the pool, or the hot tub located at one end of the room, you can look out the wall of sliding glass doors to view the beauty of Lake Montanis. Have a drink at the wet bar that overlooks the pool. Maybe you’re wanting to relax in the sauna. It’s located right off the pool room, in addition to a bathroom and shower area. We guarantee your family will spend a lot of time enjoying this incredible pool. We have pool floaties and toys available for your use (located in the garage).
